Valentine's Day is here and it's been lovely so far. ⸜(｡˃ ᵕ ˂ )⸝♡
Today is a great day to find someone you love, whether that be platonic or romantic, and show them how you really feel about them! I've done my fair share of lovin' already but I have other plans today.
I honestly should have blogged about this sooner because it's pretty interesting (at least for me). For context, I've been running a home server running Jellyfin and Navidrome for about two years now. A little big before the New Year of 2026, I upgraded my server hardware with my dad's old work computer. We believed his employer didn't need the PC or even had any knowledge of it existing anymore since it had been years since it was last used at his office. Well... two days ago my dad frantically comes home from work in the middle of the day and tells me he needs to take the computer back. Turns out his office was doing inventory and asked about the PC. So now we have to give it back by Sunday.
All is not lost, however! My plan for today includes me and my dad going to Micro Center to grab new computer parts! I'm really excited because the bundle deal we got is really nice. It includes an Intel Core Ultra 7 265KF, ASUS Z890 AYW motherboard, and Crucial Pro 32GB DDR5-6400. Basically, some really overkill stuff for a home server.（´∇｀''）
I'm kind of secretly hoping my dad will let me use this CPU/motherboard/RAM combo for my own computer and use my old parts for the home server (ᵕ - ᴗ -). But it's okay if doesn't because he bought all the parts himself! It would be pretty awesome, though... Would be a reaaaallly nice Valentine's Day gift. (¬ᴗ ´¬ )
